CARBON MEDIA 2023 AUTO PARTS SURVEY RESULTS

We recently surveyed our auto community to gather the opinions, preferences, and behaviors of our audience in relation to Auto Parts. A total of 250 respondents across our network of auto sites participated in the survey.
Questions covered a range of topics including:
- Audience demographics
- Auto parts purchasing intentions
- Preferred shopping destinations for auto parts
- Considered tire brands for upcoming purchases
Results show that many in our community are proactive about acquiring parts for their vehicles, with a noticeable inclination towards specific brands and shopping outlets. Regular updates or replacements of parts seem to be a trend among the participants.
To begin the survey, respondents were asked a series of questions aimed at capturing demographic data to gain insight into who opted to complete the survey. Based on the responses, 91% of survey participants were male, 4% were female, and 5% identify as other. With 87% of respondents stating they are 35 years of age or older.
We then asked survey participants questions related to the types of auto parts that they are planning to purchase within the next year. Air Filters, Brakes, Cleaning Supplies, Tires and Wiper Blades round out the top 5 products that respondents are looking to purchase within the 12 months. When asked how much they plan to spend on auto parts/products over the next year, 46% said they would likely spend over $500.
Next, we asked survey participants where they usually shop for auto parts/products. Amazon took the #1 spot followed by eBay, Chain Auto Parts Stores, Manufacturer Websites and Auto dealers.
When asked specifically which tire brands survey participants would consider for their next purchase, Michelin and BF Goodrich were tied for the top spot, Goodyear in a close second place, followed by Cooper, Bridgestone, and Continental closing out the top 5 tire bands considered.
